How do I get on a FAYFL team?
Best way to join the league is by becoming an FAYFL website member. Membership to the league website is free and ensures you are included in all FAYFL announcements and newsletters. In addition, membership gives you access to FAYFL coaches’ contact information. All prospective players must contact team coaches or FAYFL (540.898.6613) to secure a spot on the team.

When does the season start?
FAYFL tackle season starts on or the weekend after Labor Day each year. Indoor flag season start in March and outdoor tournaments start in late May continuing throughout the summer.

What days are the games held?
All FAYFL regular season tackle games are scheduled on Saturdays. Sunday games are reserved for post season and rainouts as needed.

How often do teams practice?
The amount of practice time varies on a team by team basis. Older divisions tend to practice three nights a week as well as an additional indoor film/instruction night. These teams tend to model national high school program practice plans. On average younger teams practice two or three nights a week depending on how fast the player’s skills develop during the season?

Where are the practice fields?
Location of practice fields vary and are dependent on the geography of a given team. FAYFL has access to practice fields throughout Spotsylvania, Stafford, Fredericksburg and Louisa. FAYFL participating organization have access to fields throughout Virginia
