Bears traveled far, wide for even more football (The Freelance Star)

| Even though the Bears had a season better than any team would hope for, head coach Anthony Robinson does not measure his achievements in wins. He measures it in the lessons he teaches his young players. "My thing is making sure that they have fun and building character through football," said Robinson, who has coached youth football for 15 years. "If there are 10 things to learn and each kid learns one thing from each year, I count it as a success. If they can get to the high school level and remember some of the things they learned here, that's a success."

Former Panther Mihota gets start (The Freelance Star)

Anthony Mihota arrived at Virginia in 2007 as a lean former defensive end.
The Massaponax High School grad has since added 30 pounds to his frame and is now a bulky redshirt freshman center for the Cavaliers.
Mihota (6-foot-4, 285 pounds) made the first start of his career yesterday in the Cavaliers' 17-14 loss to Virginia Tech in Lane Stadium. Read more

Bears aiming for national honors (The Freelance Star)

| A playoff game against the Warrenton Wolfpack almost turned into a trap game for the junior peewee team (ages 10-11). After scoring a team-high 40 points the previous game, the Bears' defense allowed its first and only touchdown of the season, but Fredericksburg rallied for a 7-6 victory.

Wildcats end season with playoff game (The Central Virginian)

| The Fredericksburg Bears put the dreams of the Louisa Wildcats to rest with a 45-0 win in the playoffs on Saturday, Nov. 22.
The Wildcats team, made up of nine- and 10-year-old players, finished the regular season 7-0, but the Bears were just too tough.
The team from Fredericksburg, which has won 19 straight games, will be traveling to Florida to play in the 2008 American
Youth Football Mighty Mite Invitational.
